Contour Drawing

This really fun face-drawing workshop is for all abilities, needing very few resources.
With contour drawing anyone can create Picasso style images that explore their creativity and imagination.

Materials required:

  • Mirror
  • Pencil, rubber, sharpener
  • Felt pens or coloured pencils
  • Black felt pen or marker
  • Paper

Abstract Flowers

Create stunning abstract art – creating expressive, gorgeous nature-inspired paintings; suitable for all ages.

Materials required:

  • Paper
  • Pencil, rubber, sharpener
  • Colour pens and /or coloured pencils
  • Paint – ready mix, acrylic or watercolours
  • Paint brushes and water pot

Body Percussion

Learn basic percussion techniques using your body and everyday objects.

Collaborate with others to create simple rhythmic patterns, using co-ordination and listening skills to keep in time with each other.

Art Bot

Create your own Art Bot, a robot with felt-tip pens for “legs” that wobbles across a piece of paper, creating drawings as it moves.

Materials:

  • 2 x AA batteries
  • 2 x AA battery holder
  • 1 x black wire
  • 3 volt DC motor
  • Plastic cup
  • Cork
  • Popsicle stick
  • 3 x thin washable markers/felt-tip pens
  • Double-sided foam tape
  • Electrical tape
  • 2 x rubber bands

Marbling Paper with Shaving Foam

Want to make some marbled paper?

We’ll show you how to use shaving foam and ink or paint to create swirly patterns and prints!

Materials:

  • Shaving foam
  • A tray or wipe-able flat surface
  • Cocktail sticks, wooden skewers
  • Washable inks, paint, or food dye
  • White paper
  • A spatula or spoon
  • A ruler

 

Poppy Prints

Creating flower prints using fingers and/or potatoes.

Materials:

  • Paper
  • Red paint
  • Black paint
  • Green or Black marker pen

  • Small potato (cut in half)
  • Poppy seeds
